Recently, a famous figure on American social networks warned the producer of GTA 6. This person’s name is Lawrence Sullivan, nicknamed Florida Joker.
Florida Joker is a character famous for his shocking appearance and statements. In 2017, Lawrence Sullivan created a quite hot trend when he dressed up as the Joker character (in response to DC’s superhero movie Joker).
And recently, an image said to be inspired by Florida Joker appeared in the GTA 6 trailer. On social networks, Lawrence Sullivan warned Rockstar. Florida Joker said the character in the main trailer was modeled after him, but the producers of GTA 6 have not asked for permission. Sullivan has given Rockstar Games an ultimatum before taking legal action against the GTA 6 developer unless they pay him several million dollars in compensation.
Previously, Rockstar Games was also sued for similar reasons. In 2015, Lindsay Lohan sued GTA producer and publisher Take-Two Interactive for allegedly using her image without permission in the game Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5). Specifically, she believes that the character “Lacey Jonas” in this game was inspired by her image and lifestyle without her approval.
However, in September 2016, Lindsay Lohan lost this case. The court decided that Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive did not violate Lindsay Lohan’s privacy. The court even emphasized that the character in the game cannot be considered a separate symbol or identifying image of Lindsay Lohan.
