Neowiz, the developer, is beginning the development of DLC for the latest Soulslike game Lies of P, inspired by the classic Pinocchio tale.
A recent job listing on Neowiz’s website confirms that the recently released Lies of P game will have DLC, and the development process has already begun. This Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game was launched in September and has become a successful title in a year filled with highly anticipated and well-received games. Lies of P’s most positive impressions have made it stand out as an indie studio game, with gamers praising it as a game that can rival FromSoftware’s titles. The positive qualities of Lies of P will continue to evolve as Neowiz has confirmed that they have started producing DLC for their game.
DLC in Souls games has helped enhance or enrich the already challenging experience by adding a new world to explore, along with dungeons and bosses that are sometimes even more difficult than those in the base game. Lies of P hinted at the next part through a post-credits scene, revealing information about where the game will be set and what happens after the main story. With the current success of the game, it’s not surprising that Neowiz has started producing DLC for this Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike game.
This has been confirmed on the publisher’s website, listing several job positions available at the company. One of these positions includes a Content DLC Planner for Lies of P, outlining specific responsibilities of the role and a brief summary of the game, including the goal of creating a twisted version of the Pinocchio fairy tale. This position also indicates how the DLC production has been planned, so these positions show that the DLC is still in the early stages of development. Other important positions include Mission Planner and Scriptwriter.
Many gamers were delighted to hear about the game’s DLC, and various theories have been proposed. Some have mentioned that the post-credits scene in Lies of P, which mentions “Dorothy,” could be a feasible direction for the DLC, possibly referring to another classic fairy tale, The Wizard of Oz. Others hope that the DLC doesn’t follow that storyline as The Wizard of Oz’s setting is vast enough to warrant its own appropriate game following Lies of P. Another group of fans believes that the DLC might help connect the base game and the post-credits scene, providing hints about the direction of the next installment.
Lies of P has become a well-received fantasy adventure game, with its unique twists based on a classic fairy tale making it stand out. Neowiz and co-developer Round8 have plenty of inspiration related to DLC, so it will be exciting to see what the DLC brings to gamers.
